Through our student-focused curriculum we aim to help you or your student set and reach goals, expand your musical horizons, and tap into your creative potential. Located in Hattiesburg, MS, the Mississippi Harp Academy is conveniently located to serve all much of the Pine Belt region.
Our program features world class faculty who are professional musicians in their own right. By insisting that our faculty maintain performance, gigging, and research activities we are able to offer private music teachers who are on the cutting edge of music education, technology, repertoire, technique, and performance styles.
Unlike many other private music studios in the area, the Mississippi Harp Academy aims to develop the full student, beyond a simple music education. Through music lessons with our faculty your student will learn how to think critically, problem solve, will build confidence, and through group activities (harp ensemble and chamber ensembles) develop interpersonal and teamwork skills. The music education offered at the MHA is unparalleled: focusing on maintaining a fun, encouraging and positive working environment while offering an expansive and diverse education base in harp technique, history, general music history and music theory. Our faculty have studied at some of the most prestigious institutes of learning in the country and are pleased to offer you or your student that knowledge as a tool for growth.
We cater to ages 8 and above, with younger students being accepted on a case-by-case basis.
